Here at BeckettHanlon, we have adjusted our strategies for the time that is now, to try to take advantage of the situation as best as possible. We’ve decided to market our business for the buyer of tomorrow. Right now, we can’t travel (unless you want to spend time in quarantine and risk your health). That’s a huge problem when you’re selling international property… like us. HOWEVER, with many people stuck at home… they’re spending a lot more time scrolling through social media. We’ve made it our mission to be SEEN & HEARD.
In the past 2 weeks, we’ve published new episodes of our Podcast ‘Can You See It – A BeckettHanlon Podcast.’ The most recent episodes feature local Belfast entrepreneur and influencer Chris Suitor, and legendary (award-winning) entrepreneur Brian Reid. The podcast can be viewed on all major listening platforms. The podcast has helped us connect and network with some amazing people, from here (Belfast) and afar.
We launched our brand new Franchise Website…. (The website you’re currently reading this on). And personally, we think it’s pretty great. We’re hoping it can educate potential partners on our journey building BeckettHanlon so far, and how we continue to do so in the current climate.
Our current partners know how much we focus on education. We had a group call last Thursday evening with everyone, to share some recent success stories and to educate on how our current partners could be using social media to their advantage in this time.
We continue to showcase new and exciting properties on our website, offering virtual tour viewings for interested buyers. We truly believe that in a few months time… or however long it may be… that when the airways open again, and it’s safe to travel, many people will be excited to do so. If Covid has taught us anything, it’s that time is precious. We never know what tomorrow brings. We believe a lot of people will be deciding to finally buy that home abroad that they’ve lusted over for many years. And… personally, I’d rather be quarantined in a gorgeous Villa in Spain, than in rainy ole’ Norn’ Iron or wherever you are reading this from.

We’d be lying if we said 2020 hadn’t been a hard year. Like many people, we haven’t been able to operate our business as we usually would. However, we’ve created our own opportunities by focusing on elevating the BeckettHanlon online brand presence. It’s so important to not be frozen in fear by current obstacles or events. There is an opportunity in every moment of uncertainty. We launched our own podcast where we’ve been interviewing successful entrepreneurs and individuals. The conversations so far have been eye-opening and inspirational. So far, through sharing my personal stories of failure, success, family and business, I’ve created meaningful online relationships with individuals who could become clients one day in the future. I also recently spoke at an event in Ten Square Hotel Belfast, called ‘Think Inspired.’ This gave me the opportunity to connect with some local legends, and hear their inspirational stories too.
So what’s the point of all of this? Our aim is that we can foster the relationships we already have, and work to create new ones. We can’t travel abroad right now. We have online, virtual viewings of luxury homes abroad, but it’s not quite the same. One day, however, we will be able to travel freely and safely again… and when that day comes, we hope to have built up our online presence, so that when someone is thinking about buying property abroad, we are the first and only company they decide to purchase with.

A growth in franchise partners has led Belfast based international property company, BeckettHanlon to open a new office space on the Lisburn Road in Belfast.
The office which is the only one in Northern Ireland in 2020 to specialise in selling international property, has seen exponential growth in franchise partners over the last three years, increasing from 13 franchise partners in 2017 to 23 currently.
Under the guidance of CEO, Drew Beckett, who has over 30 years of experience in the international property market, the company’s franchise partners are based across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and England and have been helping clients to find their dream homes abroad for almost six years.
Although mainly focused on selling properties in Spain and Portugal, BeckettHanlon has sold approximately 70 properties located worldwide including France, New York and Florida since 2013.
Aside from selling property internationally, Drew also trains and educates his own franchise partners ensuring that they are well equipped to help clients buy properties safely abroad.
Speaking about the latest expansion, he said: “We’re delighted to have opened our new office space on the Lisburn Road which will be a one stop shop for our clients.
“BeckettHanlon has been operating for almost six years and as one of the first companies in Northern Ireland to sell international property, we have a great deal of experience in the area. Hopefully our new office will provide an ideal space where our partners in Northern Ireland and clients can meet face-to-face to discuss options for purchasing a home away from home.
